Gwadar Port – Gateway to the Arabian Sea

Located at the southwestern edge of Pakistan along the Arabian Sea, Gwadar Port stands as a symbol of strategic ambition, economic potential, and coastal charm. As a key part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Gwadar is rapidly transforming from a quiet fishing town into a global trade and logistics hub — all while preserving its natural beauty and cultural roots.

About the place

Gwadar, derived from “Gwat Dar” (meaning “Gateway of the Wind”), has a rich maritime history dating back centuries. Once under Omani rule, this coastal city was integrated into Pakistan in 1958. Today, Gwadar is home to a deep-sea port, managed by the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) and developed with Chinese collaboration.
